IpCamView Utility

Posted: November 6, 2006

IpCamView

This program can view live video from an Axis IP camera and if the camera supports PTZ, the phone's keypad can be used to rotate and zoom the camera's view. I get a lot of questions about this program. It's pretty much useless to most people unless you have access to a camera made by the company Axis. There are however a bunch of open cameras on the Internet you can view with this program listed at http://www.opentopia.com/, but getting the IP address isn't so simple. You'll have to do a view source on a page and such to find out what IP address you need to put into this program to view it.

You can use 2,4,6,8 or the joystick pad on your phone to control the pan/tilt view of the camera. To zoom in/out use #,*. To exit the application, you may have to hold down the back button on your phone.

If you'd like to test this out without PTZ, you can test it out with the Naken Web web/video server.
